Pete the Cat

This week, we had a fun time with the book "Pete the Cat."  You can click on the video below to watch it at home with your child!  (They LOVE it).  :)  Pete loves his colorful shoes!  We hunted for Pete's shoes around the room, wrote our own Pete the Cat story page, made our very own Pete, and also played some other fun games with him.  We also read "A Color of His Own" and painted a chameleon after hiding him in something that was the same color.  We are also working hard on writing our numbers and letters correctly and did some fun centers to help us practice these concepts.  Enjoy the pictures!

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

This week we began our first "real" week of kindergarten!  We started to learn our regular daily routines and procedures and got into the groove of things.  We focused on the book, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" by Eric Carle.  We learned the words see and I and also worked on our color words.  We talked about the cover, title, and title page of a book.  And also learned that reading and writing always go in a special order.  We started to learn/review our letters and numbers as well!  Enjoy the pictures!

First Week of School!

We had a short, but sweet week in kindergarten!  We survived the first day jitters and enjoyed playing a cookie game and learned about the monster who came to school.  We also read "David Goes to School" and talked about how David was naughty and how we could help him be better.  We learned how to draw David and told him a rule to follow in kindergarten.  We also spent a lot of time traveling around the school to places like the office, library, gym, computer lab, and more to learn about the rules and expectations in each place.  We celebrated Friday with popsicles and a fun dance party!  Enjoy the pictures and your day off tomorrow!  See you Tuesday!
