The Mitten, Th, and STEM Day

This week, we read the book "The Mitten" and did many activities about mittens and other winter clothes.  We had a good time acting out and retelling the story, writing our own page for the mitten, and listening to the story too.  We learned the "th" sound in this week and made a "thinking thumb" to help us hunt for "th" words around the room.  For math, we focused on seeing teen numbers as a group of ten, plus some ones.  We did several fun activities to help us practice this concept and also learned how to write the corresponding equations.  We also had a fun STEM Day in the morning, where we learned about some jobs in the community and the tools they use.  Enjoy the pictures!  :)

Great Artist and Community Helpers

We did another Great Artist project this week with our awesome art moms!  We made our own watercolor paintings of this famous work of art and they turned out amazing!  Remember, all of their art will be coming home in their end of year portfolios!

We also had a fun week learning about community helpers!  We did many fun activities to help us learn about people in the community and the jobs they have to help us.  The highlight of our week was dressing up as community helpers and having some of our parents come in and tell us about their jobs.  Thanks to everyone who made it such a success!  Enjoy the pictures!
