Apples

We had a great time learning with apples this week!  We read Dr. Seuss' "Ten Apples Up on Top" and glued apples on top of our heads and practiced writing the numbers 1-5.  We taste-tested and then voted on our favorite color of apple: red, yellow, or green.  We wrote our favorite kind of apple on a paper!  We worked on informational writing and made a web about apples and write a fact we learned about apples.  We made apples with play-doh as we practiced counting quantities and learned all about positional words. This week in math, we learned circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles.  Enjoy the pictures!

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

This week, we had a fun time with the book, "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom."  We focused on the letters in the alphabet and the letters in our name.  We made our own tree with paper and put our name on it with stickers.  We also made a class book about the alphabet falling out of the tree and getting hurt.  We even got to use real band-aids on our pages!  We have started practicing writing and wrote down an idea to help the letters from getting hurt when they fall out of the tree. In math this week, we focused on seeing and counting groups of numbers 1-5. Our favorite activity was going on an alphabet hunt around the school by listening to clues. At the end of our hunt, we found a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree snack waiting for us in our classroom! Enjoy the pictures!
