Thanksgiving

We had a great time in school the last week and a half doing fun things with turkeys, pumpkin pie, and all things Thanksgiving!  We have been working on vowel sounds, reading CVC words (i.e. cat, mop), and we learned about syllables in words.  We wrote about who we would like to invite to Thanksgiving dinner and why.  We labeled a turkey and practiced sentence writing with what we were thankful for.  In math, we worked on counting objects to 20, recognizing numbers to 20, solving story problems, and solving equations.  We did a few art projects in-between and loved making our giant turkeys!  Enjoy the pictures!

Pumpkins...Continued!

This week was short due to parent-teacher conferences, so we continued our activities with pumpkins.  We had a great time playing alphabet and sight word pumpkin games.  And we played some addition and counting games with pumpkins too.  We also did a fun art project where we learned how to draw a pumpkin and then painted it by blending colors.  They will be part of their portfolios that will come home at the end of the year!  Enjoy the pictures!
