Rainbows

This week we celebrated spring with some fun rainbow activities!  We made beautiful rainbows by tearing paper pieces up and wrote a poem about our favorite color of the rainbow to go along with our art project. We also enjoyed making rainbows and writing something that is each color of the rainbow on them.  We wrote what our favorite thing is about spring for our monthly writing sample.  In math, we practiced partners of numbers. Since we couldn't go on a field trip this year, we brought Discovery Gateway Children's Museum to us!  They came and taught us all about forces and motion and did some fun experiments with us. We had a great time! Enjoy the pictures!

Spring

This week we had fun celebrating the season of spring!  We painted umbrellas and boots and wrote what we like to do when it rains.  We wrote our own version of "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs."  We focused on writing a beginning, middle, and end.  The kids came up with stories like Cloudy With a Chance of cats, ice cream, Legos, and more!  Our favorite part was sharing our stories with each other.  We read a story about a bluebird and wrote about the beginning, middle, and end of that story. We made a cute bluebird project to go along with it. Our favorite thing was reading the story, "It Looked Like Spilt Milk," where the clouds look like pictures of real-life objects. We mixed up our own cloud paint and enjoyed making our own cloud picture. In math, we worked on mixed addition and subtraction to 10 and are getting really good at our skills! Enjoy the pictures!
