Christmas and the Polar Express

What a wonderful last week and a half we had together before Christmas break!  We played lots of fun Christmas games and did many Christmas-themed learning activities.  We decorated our own trees and counted the ornaments.  We read around the room with giant candy canes.  We "elfed" ourselves and they turned out so cute!  We also wrote Christmas lists for some fun characters like Darth Vader, Elsa, Spiderman, and Cinderella.  We made a class book where we used our imaginations to turn a candy cane into something new.  Our superintendent paid our afternoon class a visit and read us a couple of Christmas stories, (she's one of our classmate's grandma)!  We had another art lesson by our two awesome art parents and recreated some art from Pablo Picasso.  The morning class was able to do the Christmas sing-a-long with the school.  The afternoon class had a surprise visit from Mrs. and Santa Claus.  And all of us had a great time boarding the Polar Express, riding the train, listening to the story, and drinking hot chocolate.  Enjoy the pictures and your holiday!
