Getting Ready for Christmas!

We had another fun week learning in kindergarten as Christmas keeps getting closer! Our monkey friend, Candy Cane, is watching us each day to see if we are being good in kindergarten!  We played lots of fun Christmas games and did many Christmas-themed learning activities.  We learned about punctuation marks and practiced with periods, question marks, and exclamation marks.  We talked about the difference between things we need and things we want and made a stocking to show what we had learned.  We made ourselves into elves and also wrote our favorite thing at Christmas time. In math we introduced the concept of partners of numbers. The kids can't wait for Christmas and are looking forward to another fun week at school celebrating with their friends!  Enjoy the pictures!

Reindeer

This week we learned all about reindeer! We learned about parts of a reindeer's body and what they are used for. We wrote sentences about things we learned about reindeer. We also made our own reindeer headband and wrote if we would like antlers or not. We read a story about Santa's reindeer getting sick and made a class book and each chose a new animal to pull Santa's sleigh. In math we started learning how to count by tens to 100, opened presents and counted the objects inside with a 10-frame, and practiced the partners of 5. Enjoy the pictures!
