Bats, Rhyming Dust Bunnies, Vowels, and More!

With Halloween coming up, we did some activities this week with bats.  We learned about looking at the beginning sound of a word while reading, the -at word family, and how to read an informational book and write facts.

The kids enjoyed this vowel bat video:

We worked some more on rhyming and enjoyed doing an activity with the book "Rhyming Dust Bunnies":

We learned all of our vowel sounds this week.  We learned that vowels stick words together and can make two sounds.

In math, we worked on showing subtraction stories with Pete the Cat and also learned how to write equations.

Nursery Rhymes

We had a short, but fun-filled week!  We are continuing to work on rhyming and had a good time with Humpty Dumpty and other nursery rhymes!

We read the story "Leaf Man" and then used the fall leaves we collected to make our own leaf pictures!
