Thanksgiving

We had a great time in school the last week and a half doing fun things with turkeys, pumpkin pie, and all things Thanksgiving!  We have been working on vowel sounds, reading CVC words (i.e. cat, mop), b and d reversals, and we learned about syllables in words.  We wrote about who we would like to invite to Thanksgiving dinner and why.  We labeled a turkey and practiced sentence writing with what we were thankful for and what we could eat for Thanksgiving dinner.  In math, we worked on subtraction, positional words, and practiced our addition facts.  Enjoy the pictures!

Fall

This week we finished up some fun fall activities. We made animals out of leaves, practiced writing numbers in a fall tree, learned how to draw a scarecrow, and made squirrel puppets. In math, we went a little deeper into learning about triangles and also talked about a new shape, the hexagon! We enjoyed making a book where we turned a triangle into something that we can find in real life. Enjoy the pictures!
