Commas, R Blends, Birds, and HALLOWEEN!

We had a busy and super fun last week on track!  We learned how to use commas in our writing when listing objects in our sentences.  We worked on recognizing, reading, and writing R blends.  We also learned about birds and that their feathers and wings make them special from other kinds of animals.  In math, we worked on relating addition and subtraction equations to each other and also started to work on writing equations vertically.  We made a spooky monster alphabet book with our 4th grade buddies.  And we had tons of fun at our Halloween party!  Thank you to all the moms and dads that sent items in and helped out at the party!  Enjoy the pictures...and the rest of your off track time!  :)

Chick-Fil-A Party, Art Projects, and Reptiles

Even though this week was short, we packed it full of fun activities!  We reviewed concepts in math, phonics, and writing. In science, we learned about reptiles and how they are different from mammals.  We also had our long-awaited Nugget Party for having the most kids from our class attend spirit night at Chick-Fil-A last month.  We got to eat nuggets, listen to a cow story, and have a dance party with the cow!  We also made art projects with the leaves we collected.  Luke's mom came in to each us about the artist Wassily Kandinsky.  We recreated his art called "Squares with Concentric Circles."  I hope you all enjoyed your fall break!
