American Symbols

This week, we studied some symbols of America.  We focused on the Bald Eagle, Liberty Bell, The White House, The Statue of Liberty, and the flag.  (Which I forgot to take pictures of).  :(  We read several informational books this week about the symbols and practiced listening for information, recording it, and writing about it.  In math, we focused on the number ten.  We made a fun class book after reading the book "Ten Black Dots."  And we did some other fun math games that helped us add and subtract with the partners of 10.  Enjoy the pictures!

100th Day of School!

We finally reached our 100th day of school!  The kids were SO excited.  We did many fun things on 100 day, like filling up a jar with 100 gumballs, making a 100 monster, writing about what we would like and not like 100 of, and stacking 100 cups!  We also made pictures using the numbers from 100 and made ourselves look like we were 100 years old.  We also hunted for all the numbers 1-100 around the room!  We also worked on making sure we know the letters b and d...and which way they go.  And we became the "kings of -ing" as we learned a new word family.  Enjoy the pictures!
