The "oo" and "ew" Sounds, Good Citizenship, and Dancing

This week we focused on some more vowel teams that say the long u sound - like OO and EW.  We made spOOky ghosts and wrote stories all about them using OO words.  Some of our ghosts went swimming at the Herriman Pool, others visited the zoo!  We also designed an EW! germ and wrote a story about the germ.  The kids loved using their imaginations and have become awesome story writers.  We also played several fun games during center time and we loved spelling OO words with Froot Loops as well!  In social studies, we learned how to be a good citizen at home, at school, and in our community.  We also had a follow-up session with RDT dance, who came and performed at an assembly for our school last week.  We had a special lesson from an instructor and learned how to do several fun moves!  Enjoy the pictures!
