Spring

This week we had fun celebrating the season of spring!  We painted umbrellas and boots and wrote what we like to do when it rains.  We wrote our own version of "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs." We focused on writing a beginning, middle, and end. The kids came up with stories like Cloudy With a Chance of Pizza, Ice Cream, Cake, and more! Our favorite part was sharing our stories with each other.  We read a story about a bluebird and wrote about the beginning, middle, and end of that story. We made a cute bluebird project to go along with it. Our favorite thing was reading the story, "Little Cloud" where a cloud decides to change into the shape of real-life objects. We mixed up our own cloud paint and enjoyed making our own cloud picture. In math, we worked on learning the names of four 3D shapes. We loved having show and tell every day. Enjoy the pictures!

 

Easter

This week, we did some fun Easter-themed activities. We had fun using plastic eggs for math and literacy practice and doing some centers with carrots and bunnies.  We made a flip-book about something that was an egg shape, but not an egg! We got to do some fun painting with Peep paint. We turned a Peep into something else, like a ninja, skunk, or flower for a class book.  We read the book "Duck!  Rabbit!" and decided for ourselves whether we thought the picture in the book looked like a duck or rabbit and then wrote about it. In math, we learned about 3D shapes. Enjoy the pictures!
