Utah Symbols

This week, we learned about the symbols of Utah!  We talked about the state flower, animal, bird, fish, tree, and more.  We did some informational writing and enjoyed learning about some famous places and landmarks in Utah as well.  We learned that Utah is called the "Beehive State" and made our own beehives.  We also wrote about our favorite thing about living in Utah.  The kids wrote things like skiing in the mountains, hiking to Delicate Arch, seeing Temple Square, and visiting the Great Salt Lake.  We made fun maps with special things from Utah on them.  And also made our state bird, a seagull!  In math, we focused on partners of ten and practiced subtraction and addition with ten.  We also read a fun book, "Ten Black Dots," and made our own class book using ten black dots as well!  Enjoy the pictures!
