Spring is Here!

This week, we celebrated the season of spring!  We used watercolors to paint our own umbrellas and boots and wrote what we like to do when it rains.  We also made beautiful rainbows by tearing paper pieces up and wrote a poem about our favorite color of the rainbow to go along with our art project.  We read "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" and wrote a class book about what we wish it would rain.  The kids came up with fun ideas like dogs, ice cream, Legos, and donuts!  We also had another Great Artist project taught by our 2 awesome art parents.  We recreated a work of art by Jackson Pollock and the kids had a great time splattering paint!  In math, we introduced the concept of 3D/solid shapes and learned how they are different from 2D/flat shapes.  We will continue to learn the names of some of those shapes next week.  For centers, we had lots of fun with spring-themed learning and also practiced our magic e words.  Enjoy the pictures!
