Easter and 3D Shapes

This week, we did some fun Easter-themed activities.  We had fun using plastic eggs for math and literacy practice and doing some centers with carrots and bunnies.  We made a class big book together using the words from our poem we learned this week.  We also made a craft of the Easter bunny getting stuck and wrote about how we would get him out.  (Answers included things like shovels, plungers, and rope)!  We also got to do some fun painting and made an Easter bunny for our portfolios.  We read the book "Duck!  Rabbit!" and decided for ourselves whether we thought the picture in the book looked like a duck or rabbit and then wrote about it.

In math, we continued to learn the about four 3D shapes: spheres, cones, cubes, and cylinders.  We loved bringing in show-and-tell items that were the shape of the day.  And we also got to eat a little snack or treat each day that was the shape as well.  Enjoy the pictures!
