Utah Symbols and the Lion and Lamb

This week, we learned about the symbols of Utah!  We talked about the State flower, animal, bird, fish, tree, and more.  We did some informational writing and enjoyed learning about some famous places and landmarks in Utah as well.  We learned that Utah is called the "Beehive State" and made our own beehives.  We also wrote about our favorite thing about living in Utah.  The kids wrote things like skiing in the mountains, hiking to Delicate Arch, seeing Temple Square, and visiting the Great Salt Lake.

Since it was the beginning of March this week, we learned about the saying "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb."  We read a fun story together about that saying and then made our own lion and lamb.  We wrote if we thought we were more like lion or lamb weather.  We also worked on some lion and lamb weather charts.  Enjoy the pictures!
