Silent E

This week, we focused on learning about the silent e.  Silent e makes no sound...but changes the vowel sound in a word.  We made magic wands and transformed words with a "Magic e."  We made ninja masks and went around spelling words "like a ninja" after watching a fun song called "Silent e is a ninja." We made a sneaky e puppet and practiced spelling words with the sneaky e. In math, we focused on learning new strategies for adding numbers to 10. We also had some more fun with St. Patrick's Day during center time!  Enjoy the pictures!

 

St. Patrick's Day

We had a fun holiday week celebrating St. Patrick's Day!  Our activities had lots of shamrocks, leprechauns, and gold!  We wrote about who was worth more to us than gold.  We made ourselves into leprechauns and wrote about when we feel lucky.  And we wrote about what our luckiest day would be like.  We had so much fun sharing those ideas with our friends!  In math, we focused on learning more about the partners of 10.
