Candy Canes and Christmas Fun

We had another fun week learning in kindergarten as Christmas keeps getting closer! Our monkey friend, Candy Cane, is watching us each day to see if we are being good in kindergarten!  We played lots of fun Christmas games and did many Christmas-themed learning activities.  We decorated our own trees and counted the ornaments.  We read around the room with giant candy canes.  We also wrote Christmas lists for some fun characters like Darth Vader, Elsa, Spiderman, and Cinderella.  We made a class book where we used our imaginations to turn a candy cane into something new.  We also read a story about the reindeer getting sick and Santa needing to find a replacement.  The kids came up with some great ideas and made their own ending to the book thinking of a new animal to pull Santa in his sleigh.  The morning class was also able to participate in STEM day, put on by the district.  They were able to hear about how people use science, technology, engineering, and math in their jobs.  (The kids also loved doing reading groups with the Star Wars  pointers)!  Enjoy the pictures!
