American Symbols

This week, we studied some symbols of America.  We focused on the Bald Eagle, Liberty Bell, the White House, the Statue of Liberty, and the US Flag.  We read several informational books this week about the symbols and practiced listening for information, recording it, and writing about it.  We did many fun winter and snow themed centers to finish off January.  We also learned the "wh" sound and used our "wheelbarrows" to collect "wh" words around the room!  For math, we reviewed the shapes we have learned and even got make them using toothpicks and marshmallows.  Enjoy the pictures!
