3D Shapes, Kings of ING, Utah Symbols, and Great Artist

This week in math, we studied 3D shapes.  We learned what the difference was between a 2D and 3D shape and also learned all about spheres, cubes, cones, and cylinders.

Here is a fun song the kids have enjoyed listening to in class:

For each new shape, the kids were able to bring in a show and tell item that was the shape we were learning.  We also got a little treat or snack each day that was the specific shape.

We learned all about the "ing" sound and became the kings (and queens) of -ing in our classroom.  We hunted for -ing words, wrote them on a crown, and then did some activities to show what we learned.

In kindergarten, we learn a little bit about the state of Utah.  We learned about some of its symbols and also got to hear our state song.  We read an informational book and gathered facts to write about as a class.  We also wrote about what we liked most about Utah.

Here is the state song:

Finally, we got to learn about another Great Artist and make some art of our own.  We studied Diego Rivera and did some watercolor painting of some sunflowers.
