Spring is in Full Swing!

This week we painted umbrellas and boots with watercolors and turned them into a fun writing project!

Under the umbrella was a writing paper and we wrote about what we like to do when it rains.

They are up in our hallway, so make sure to check them out if you come to the school!

We also talked a little about rainbows this week.  We made some rainbows and wrote something that is each color of the rainbow on every color strip.

They are hanging from our ceiling and make our room look so happy and colorful!

We worked in small groups to illustrate another class big book.  I love seeing the pictures the kids come up with!

In math this week, we practiced subtracting numbers from 10 using beans as manipulatives.

We also practiced adding two numbers on a carrot patch.

We worked on adding numbers to ten to make teen numbers.

And played a teen number/equation matching game.

We had lots of fun as usual during center time!  Here are some highlights:

 Counting syllables on carrots

Practicing reading color words in a colorful egg booklet

Adding two numbers on plastic eggs

Matching word wall words on eggs

Finding spring words around the room

Making words with word family egg puzzles

Writing about our favorite part of Easter

Writing number sentences to match pictures around the room

Sorting lowercase and capital letters and putting them in order

Turning a picture of a "Peep" into something new and writing about it

In PE, we had a really fun time playing with balloons!

Sam was our Star Student for the week and enjoyed showing us her stuffed animal bunny!
