The Mitten, Th, and Teen Numbers

This week, we read the book "The Mitten" and did many activities about mittens and other winter clothes.  We had a good time acting out and retelling the story, writing our own page for the mitten, and listening to the story too.  We learned the "th" sound in this week and made a "thinking thumb" to help us hunt for "th" words around the room.  For math, we focused on seeing teen numbers as a group of ten, plus some ones.  We did several fun activities to help us practice this concept and also learned how to write the corresponding equations.  Enjoy the pictures!  :)

Community Helpers

We had a short, but fun week learning about community helpers!  We did many activities to help us learn about people in the community and the jobs they have to help us.  The highlight of our week was dressing up as community helpers and having some of our parents come in and tell us about their jobs.  Thanks to everyone who made it such a success!  Enjoy the pictures!
